The Cleaning Process BedMedic provides a very advanced and hi-tech solution to the job of mattress sterilisation and cleaning. We do not use any chemicals which would be harmful to the environment or allergy sufferers. BedMedic use Ultra Violet Lamps and equipment manufactured by UV-C Research of Switzerland. The UV-C or Germicidal light, has powerful, built-in inherent qualities that, under the right design conditions, provide a means for lethal destruction of microbial organisms. It is essential that the mattress receives the correct time exposure and our operators are trained to accomplish this - the total destruction of live dust mites and their eggs. This sterilising process is accompanied by a powerful industrial strength vibrating vacuum cleaner which uses a High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter, (HEPA), this ensures that none of the contaminants are released into the atmosphere of the room. All the dead mites, the eggs, their excrement and any other skin or particles are removed from deep within the mattress or bedding. The whole process will take about 20 minutes for a single bed and about 30 minutes for double bed mattresses. A household with three beds will be completed in about 2 hours. You should prepare for our visit by stripping all the beds which require cleaning. It is also advisable to remove any fragile lamps or ornaments to a safe place to provide working room for the operator. There is no need to remove the mattress from the frame, however, the operator will need to turn it for access to both sides for cleaning. On completion of the sterilisation and cleaning, a biological disinfectant spray is applied to the bedding to inhibit future infestation. This cleaning process should be repeated every 6 months for the best hygiene and the most comfortable sleeping environment.
